Valerie is a native Chicagoan, and she moved to the Houston area in 2021 with her family after 6 years of teaching at a seminary in the Black Forest of Germany. Her life has been marked by travels all over the globe — from Asia to Africa to Europe. These experiences expanded her worldview and broadened her understanding of Christianity and faith.

She enjoys looking at Scripture from different angles and appreciates how each person’s background gives them a unique lens through which to understand God. The history of the Bible and it’s original languages are subjects that she has always found fascinating, and she recently completed her PhD in Biblical Studies. Now rooted in the States, she is passionate about supporting the global church and currently works as the Member Engagement Manager for GACX, a global alliance for church multiplication.

Valerie is married to Kenny, a hospital chaplain at Memorial Hermann, and they have a daughter named Autumn. When the blistering Houston heat doesn’t keep them inside, they enjoy outdoor activities, as well as the many fun events and sites that the Houston-area has to offer.
