Dear Church Family,
At our January annual meeting we shared that we had a major budget shortfall in 2020 and that if 2021 continued in the same way, we would very likely need to make a staff reduction to prevent a continuing financial shortfall. Being wise stewards with our finances, and maintaining good financial planning frees us from focusing on money as we carry out our mission to Embody Love.

This Sunday we have a very special guest preacher named Pastor Francisco Calix. If you recall, this past fall we partnered with a church in Honduras to help them engage in hurricane relief after they were devastated by two hurricanes. Pastor Francisco pastors that church. He will be preaching in Spanish with English subtitles, provided by our mission partner and his daughter-in-law, Megan Turley.
Wednesday nights at 8pm on Zoom during Lent we will have a Lenten Prayer Chapel based upon practices learned from Dr. Barbara L. Peacock’s book Soul Care in African American Practice. We highly recommend buying and reading the book, but you do not have to read the book to participate. Register here to receive the zoom code.
We look forward to celebrating the resurrection together on Easter Sunday. We will gather outdoors at the ECL Building. Please register all who will attend so that we can plan accordingly.
Next week we will transition into the season of Lent. Lent
is a season of forty days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash
Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. Lent is a time of repentance,
fasting and preparation for the coming of Easter. It is a time of
self-examination and reflection.
In just a few weeks we enter in to the season of Lent. While a season of reflecting on the heavy events that led to Jesus' death and resurrection, it is also a rich season of practicing being present...

Thank you for all who were able to attend our annual meeting and vote for our two elder candidates. We are thrilled to announce that the church body of Ecclesia Clear Lake has voted to add Jenny Deitz and Michael Musselman to our elder team for a three year term...
The elders at Ecclesia Clear Lake have nominated Jenny Deitz and Michael Musselman as candidates for eldership. After our Annual Meeting on January 24th we will open up voting through an online form. The voting form will remain available until around 3 p.m.
We need all who consider Ecclesia Clear Lake home to vote.
On January 24 at 11:30 a.m., we will hold a virtual annual meeting to celebrate what God has done in our community this past year, talk about our 2021 budget, and vote on new eldership. All who call Ecclesia Clear Lake home are encouraged to attend this meeting.
