Great News! We exceeded our goal and raised $2,450.Thank you for your generous giving that will provide students with supplies and backpacks for the upcoming school year. What a joy to partner with Hope Active in the good work they are doing in our community.

This year, Ecclesia is partnering with Hope Active again, a local organization you can read about here, to help raise funds for their annual backpack drive. From now until June 21st we have a goal of reaching $2,000 to donate to help families with school supplies, and feel we can meet that with your help. Any amount – big or small – is valued and appreciated. You can donate here by designating "School Supplies 2020" in the drop down menu. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Sarah Musselman or Lesley Shaffner

Back in March we announced that the elders at ECL nominate Lauren Kussro and Joe Bibby as candidates for eldership. We were unable to vote in person because of the suspension of public gatherings. We would like to move forward with a vote on June 14. We will vote ONLINE from 11 a.m to 1 p.m on that day. If you are unable to access the internet, we will have curbside voting available in our church parking lot from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on that day.

Both Lauren and Joe already lead and serve in various capacities at ECL. Lauren helps lead worship through music, she coordinates gathered prayer times, and she is a key contributor to our art ministry. Joe serves as a teacher on the children's ministry team, he regularly serves communion, and he manages our website and our podcast. Currently, Joe produces our streamed service.

Please take time to read the following documents so you can make an educated vote:
1. Elder Profile - Lauren Kussro
2. Elder Profile - Joe Bibby
3. Eldership at ECL - A document outlining the roles and responsibilities of an elder at our church.

Dear Church Family,

We are writing to let you know that Lacy Hilbrich has recently resigned from eldership at Ecclesia Clear Lake. She has led with courage and strength for the past 13 years. We would not be who we are today without her faithfulness and leadership. We are grateful for the many ways she has blessed and shaped us. Please read her letter of resignation below.

Sincerely,
The Elders of Ecclesia Clear Lake

Dear Ecclesia Clear Lake,

to those that have gathered together with me for more than 13 years,
to those that have joined around the Table all along the way,
to those who have recently come to find a home at ECL,

Thank you, friends. Thank you for being a piece in a beautiful season of my life. Thank you for pushing me forward and reminding me regularly that the journey is beautiful. The story of this community is a picture of change and growth and new life. It is from this place that I have become increasingly aware that my time as a leader and teacher at ECL has come to an end.

We received a sweet note from League City Elementary thanking us for supporting their students during this time. It is incredible that together in just one week we were able to purchase over $8,500 worth of laptops to help students with their online learning. What a strange time we are living but moments like this bring hope. Thank you for your generosity!

Hello Church Family,

I miss each and everyone of you. I look forward to the day we can safely and regularly gather in person again. The elders are working on articulating our plan for navigating our life as a community for the foreseeable future. We will share the plan soon.

Meanwhile, I want to invite you to join us on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. for our weekly Prayer Chapel. The hope is to cultivate a deeper awareness of the movement of the Holy Spirit as we join together and practice contemplative prayer and reflect on scripture in community.
