This month, Pastor John is rotating off the elder board after 4 years of faithful service. This will give him more time and energy to focus on his work of developing and cultivating a thriving worship ministry at Ecclesia Clear Lake.
Over the last few months, The Elders have prayerfully and intentionally created new Mission, Values, and Vision for our church. In November we will be rolling these out and you are invited to come and hear about where the Spirit is leading.
Next week we will have the opportunity, once again, to sit under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dieula Previlon.
Well, Melissa and Ron are in the process of moving to Georgetown, TX. Of course, that means she will no longer be serving as an elder at our church. We invite you to also express your gratitude to Melissa by taking the time to write a note to her. You can find her email address on our church website.
Our friends at The Mercy Tree are such a blessing to our community! If you did not know, two days a week they serve lunch to our homeless sisters and brothers at ECL, and at many other churches in the clear lake area throughout the week.
Here are some ways we can help...
We are going to pause our Wednesday night Prayer Chapel for a few weeks. When we relaunch, one Connection Group at a time will be invited to gather on the church lawn to enjoy Prayer Chapel in person. We will offer an online component as well so everybody can continue participating. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks!
This Sunday, the 6th, there will be no Going Deeper after our online liturgy.
The following week, September 13th we will launch Connection Groups. Thank you so much for registering! We will meet weekly via Zoom from 11:15 - noon. These groups will also be our way of organizing in-person small group gatherings when it is safe to do so in the future.

Our Creator wired us in such a way that we need relationships with each other. We need space to pray, reflect on scripture, and share life in the context of community. Covid-19 has made that very difficult. While there are no simple solutions, we think our new online small groups, called Connection Groups, can help us dive into deeper relationships with each other and can equip us to be more aware of the work of the Holy Spirit in us and around us.

The registration deadline is August 30. We only need one registration per household. This is a great opportunity for all who call Ecclesia Clear Lake home and for anybody else longing for deeper connections during this time.
