We are sad to share that an ICA church member has passed away this week. Their congregation is joining together to help raise some monetary support for the family by selling plates of food in the ECL parking lot this Saturday, Feb 1. If you are available, please stop by around lunch time until 2 pm and support our brothers and sisters.

Hello, Church Family!

On February 2 we are going to have our annual meeting for all people who call Ecclesia Clear Lake home. This is an important meeting where elders will reflect on where we saw God at work in our community in 2019 and where we think God is leading us in 2020. We plan to address the next two steps of the listening exercise (emerging futures/deep longings and priorities that help us move towards our deep longings). The meeting should take about 45 minutes. We have childcare for 5 years and younger.

It's a joy and pleasure to be your pastor. Please let me know how I can be praying for you.

Sincerely,

Pastor Coby

Eldership at Ecclesia Clear Lake

During the listening exercise, one of the things the elders realized was we needed to clarify their role for the community. Built upon the framework of the ECL bylaws, this document is intended to provide direction, vision, and structure for the role of elders in our community. It will also be a helpful framework when we add new elders in the future. - Eldership at ECL

Keeping Kids Safe Policy

Children and youth are an integral part of our church community. They have a voice and a role in shaping who we are and who we become. Our role as adults in the community is to create safe space for their faith in the triune God to be nurtured. This is both a spiritual and a physical safety. In partnership with the Director of Family Ministries, Karis McQuinn, the elders created and approved the Keeping Kids Safe Policy. The policy is intended to be enforced at all ECL events, on and off campus. - Keeping Kids Safe Policy

Hello, Church Family! During the worship service on Sunday, I shared some exciting news. Our staff at ECL will be growing! On January 8, Ashley Kinsel will join the staff for a part-time combination position, Director of Youth Ministry and Director of Operations.

Director of Youth Ministry
We have a growing youth ministry with some incredible youth ministry volunteers. Ashley will work around five hours a week to organize the youth ministry, invest in our adult leaders, and pour into our students.

Director of Operations
After participating in the listening exercises, it became clear that we needed a person to help create infrastructure and systems that will better allow us to meet our deep longings and our emerging futures. Ashley will spend approximately five hours a week providing vision, leadership, and structure for facilities management, communications, and hospitality.

New Preaching Series
On Sundays during January, we will pause our exploration of the lectionary texts to focus on the theme of discipleship. Pastor Coby and guests from our community will discuss four things we need to do as a community for us to better pursue discipleship at this time and in this place.
